Melissa Ballard
Senior Associate
Ms. Ballard joined the litigation team at Jones & Mayer in 2016, and defends cities and their employees from a variety of personal injury and civil rights claims. In her 20-year career, Ms. Ballard’s litigation practice has focused on defending clients from lawsuit for personal injuries, property damage and breach of contract, with an emphasis on risk transfer and indemnity rights. Prior to joining Jones & Mayer, Ms. Ballard worked for 12 years at a large, national insurance defense firm defending commercial clients in complex construction litigation, followed by 3 years managing a legal team of insurance defense trial attorneys throughout California for a major insurance carrier.
Ms. Ballard attended the University of Connecticut and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology in 1991. In 1996, Ms. Ballard obtained a J. D. from California Western School of Law.
Ms. Ballard is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in California.
