Mr. Preziosi serves as General Counsel to the Rossmoor Community Services District, Assistant City Attorney for the City of Costa Mesa and deputy city attorney for a number of other cities represented by the firm. His practice is exclusively devoted to the representation of cities, other public entities and the firm’s law enforcement clients. Mr. Preziosi’s focus is primarily advisory and transactional, however, he also represents public agencies in civil writs and appeals in both state and federal courts. He is knowledgeable in most areas of municipal law, and regularly advises city councils, boards, commissions and department heads on a variety of matters. His particular areas of emphasis include land use, CEQA, the Coastal Act, federal fair housing laws and group homes, marijuana regulation, the Public Records Act, the Political Reform Act, elections, personnel matters and laws pertaining to special districts. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts within the State of California.
Mr. Preziosi has been a member of the California Peace Officers Association since 2008, and is currently Chair of the Legal Advisors Section (southern division). He has served the California League of Cities as a member of the Municipal Law Institute in 2014-2015, as Chapter Chair for the 2010 and 2014 editions of the California Municipal Law Handbook and as an appointee to the Public Safety Policy Committee for the 2009-2011 sessions. Mr. Preziosi was a planning commissioner for the City of Dana Point from 2011 to 2013.
Mr. Preziosi graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1998 where he was Senior Articles Editor of the Hastings Law Journal. He graduated with Departmental Honors from U.C.L.A in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology.
