Receivership Division
Our newly expanded division and team of attorneys/prosecutors, contractors, experts and health and safety receivers is the only one of its kind in the State of California. We have geographical locations across the State to better and more efficiently serve your agency. Tough budget times require innovative, mission-oriented and cost recovering practices which our team is uniquely qualified to implement for your agency. Through new partnerships our receivership team now has the ability, depending on your agency's needs, to serve as special legal counsel to secure the appointment of health & safety receivers OR we now have the experienced personnel and resources to serve as the actual court-appointed receiver.
A Health & Safety Receivership is a legal process through which title to a piece of real property is temporarily taken from the owner and placed with a court appointed officer - the Receiver. Authorized pursuant to California Health & Safety Code Sections 17980 et seq., Receiverships are used primarily for severely substandard or abandoned properties posing an imminent threat to health & safety, where the owner or occupant (1) has a history of non-compliance with enforcement agency orders to abate; (2) is physically or mentally unable to comply with enforcement agency orders to abate; or (3) is unable to be located to comply with enforcement agency orders to abate. We invite you to explore the many services our division offers and should you have any questions please contact us today.
