As counsel to police departments and Offices of the Sheriff we work directly through the Chief of Police or Sheriff and provide a variety of legal services.  We defend the agency in state and federal court in tort and civil rights litigation, arising out of their law enforcement functions.  We provide on going legal advice and guidance on a host of administrative matters including, but not limited to, labor negotiations, employment issues, internal investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and the multitude of “Acts,” such as ADA, FMLA, FLSA, POBRA, CPRA.  We generate and disseminate Client Alert Memos on matters of significance to law enforcement and provide training to departmental personnel, as needed.
