The 2009 edition of the "Syllabus on Pitchess Motions" has just been published by the California Peace Officers' Association. The book was prepared by our own Gregory P. Palmer.

Christopher Neumeyer is staffing the La Habra Family Resource Center twice a month with attorneys from our firm to provide legal advice pro bono (without legal fees) to residents of La Habra with no, or relatively little money to pay for legal services. Attorneys participating thus far are Christopher Neumeyer, Elena Gerli, Paul Coble, Jeremy Rytky, Kathya Oliva, Jamaar Boyd-Weatherby, Ivy Tsai, Christian L. Bettenhausen and Kimberly Hall Barlow.

September 18, 2009 - Dean Pucci will be presenting a session entitled "The Most Effective Code Enforcement Remedies in Tough Budget Times" at the California League of California Cities Conference in San Jose, California.

September 23, 2009 - Martin J. Mayer will present oral argument to the California Court of Appeal, on behalf of amici California State Sheriffs Association, California Police Chiefs Association and California Peace Officers Association, in the case of Qualified Patients Inc. v. City of Anaheim, supporting a city's right to ban medical marijuana dispensaries.

September 24, 2009 - Gregory P. Palmer will be presenting a seminar entitled "The Seven Deadly Sins of Internal Affairs" at the September Commander's Luncheon for the City of Costa Mesa.

September 25, 2009 - Martin J. Mayer is a key presenter, along with Riverside District Attorney Rod Pacheco, at a conference held in Ontario, CA, sponsored by The Coalition for a Drug Free California, where he will provide a legal update to the meeting regarding current court decisions involving California's Medical Marijuana Program.

October 4, 2009 - Martin J. Mayer will be presenting on two occasions at the annual conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Mr. Mayer will be addressing the Police Psychologists Section of IACP.

October 8-9, 2009 - Gregory P. Palmer will be presenting a seminar on the Public Records Act to the California Peace Officers Association at Riverside.

November 24, 2009 - Martin J. Mayer will be presenting, along with Senior Deputy Attorney General Jacob Applesmith, at the annual conference of the California Narcotic Officers Association (CNOA) in San Francisco. Mr. Mayer and Mr. Applesmith will discuss the Attorney General's Guidelines on California's Medical Marijuana Program, as well as providing an update on current court decisions affecting this law.
